Splashscreen doesn't work

7. No splashscreen. Just dark grey screen (#333 kinda background) for a few seconds and then the app's first page.

NOTE: I'm using the default icon.png and splash.png that comes with ionic. I am getting the icon, NOT the splashscreen.

For the record, I've tried:
1. Deleting and regenerating resources on a stub project.
2. Increasing timeout to 60000.

Please, for god's sake, does this thing even work? Please check attachments.
