Ionic Capacitor failed iOS build

Signing for “App” requires a development team. Select a development team in the Signing & Capabilities editor.

App signing is set to Automatic (build settings / signing) and I can only find team signing option under the Pods build targets (in all cases the development team target is set to a personal team).

Creating a blank XCode project builds fine - so this is likely something with the Pods / setup of Ionic Capacitor.
