Ionic Deploy: very slow download

I’ve been using Ionic Deploy with success for years but I noticed lately that when I build and deploy a new version of the application in AppFlow, it can take up to 3 minutes for my app to download the new content the next time I start the app.

I have a log window where I can watch the progress of the new deploy being downloaded and it is painfully slow (and as another problem, the connection often breaks and just stops downloading) but the main issue is the download speed.

In the Ionic Hub (AppFlow), if I click on “Download web build zip”, the file is 1900k in size and takes under 1 second to download on the same connection my cell phone is using. Why is the Deploy plugin taking 3 minutes to download 1900k?

Is there a build setting I should be using in my package? What am I missing?

Ionic CLI : 6.4.3
Ionic Framework : @ionic/angular 5.0.1
@angular-devkit/build-angular : 0.803.25
@angular-devkit/schematics : 8.3.25
@angular/cli : 8.3.25
@ionic/angular-toolkit : 2.1.2

Cordova:

Cordova CLI : 9.0.0 (cordova-lib@9.0.1)
Cordova Platforms : android 7.1.4, ios 5.1.1
Cordova Plugins : cordova-plugin-ionic 5.4.6, cordova-plugin-ionic-keyboard 2.1.3, cordova-plugin-ionic-webview 4.1.3, (and 8 other plugins)

Utility:

cordova-res : not installed
native-run (update available: 0.3.0) : 0.2.1

System:

NodeJS : v13.13.0 (C:\Program Files\nodejs\node.exe)
npm : 6.14.4
OS : Windows 10

In package.json, my scripts are the basic ones:

“scripts”: {
“ng”: “ng”,
“start”: “ng serve”,
“build”: “ng build”,
“test”: “ng test”,
“lint”: “ng lint”,
“e2e”: “ng e2e”
}
