PayPal plugin does't work on iOS when Capacitor is used for build

Paypal works fine only when using Cordova. But when I used the Capacitor it doesn’t work on iOs. I understand that it is not on the Ionic side. But I just want to inform you that
https://github.com/paypal/PayPal-Cordova-Plugin plugin works correctly only with Cordova.

This guide https://ionicframework.com/docs/native/paypal works only using Cordova. I created empty apps (only with PayPal plugin) using both Cordova and Capacitor and tested it with the latest library versions.

Error body from PayPal pop-up:
Invalid merchant
Payments to this merchant are not allowed (invalid clientId)

Error from console:
PayPal SDK: Request has failed with error: invalid_client - System error (invalid_client). Please try again later. (401) | PayPal Debug-ID: 61c53ad41d07b [mock, PayPal iOS SDK 2.17.0] | Details: ( { “error_description” = “Client Authentication failed”; } ).

The clientId is correct from the correct production environment and works only on Android using Capacitor and on both platforms using Cordova.

@ccssmnn wrote:

I’m using IonSelect inside an IonGrid. The displayed options text is shorter that it has to be. It is especially short when a Label is provided.

Here are the images:

The code:

import * as React from "react";
import { render } from "react-dom";
// core css for ionic to work properly
import "@ionic/react/css/core.css";
import {
  IonSelect,
  IonItem,
  IonSelectOption,
  IonGrid,
  IonRow,
  IonCol,
  IonLabel
} from "@ionic/react";

function App() {
  const [value, setValue] = React.useState("");
  const options = ["short", "loooooooooong", "veeeeeeeeeery loooooooooong"];
  return (
    <IonGrid>

        </IonCol>

const rootElement = document.getElementById("root");
render(<App />, rootElement);

Any suggestions?

Try this,

On package.json add;

  "resolutions": {    "@babel/preset-env": "^7.8.7",    "@babel/compat-data": "~7.8.0"  }

run npx npm-force-resolutions
then run npm install or yarn
then run npm build or yarn build

Let us know if this helps.

i added to package.json but i don’t know how to run those command on appflow server?

ITMS-90809: UIWebView API Deprecation (followed all instructions, however I'm getting the deprecation message)

@keber wrote:

When I’m uploading a build to AppStoreConnect (to test it via TestFlight for example), I’m getting the well known deprecation message:

ITMS-90809: Deprecated API Usage - Apple will stop accepting submissions of new apps that use UIWebView APIs starting from April 2020. See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uiwebview for more information.

However I have followed all the instructions (e.g. from the official Ionic Blog) and don’t know what I could have missed.

What I did:

  1. Updated all cordova plugins to the latest version (e.g. cordova-plugin-ionic-webview is now on v4.1.3; cordova-plugin-inappbrowser is on v3.2.0)
  2. Checked Cordova Platform (it is ios 5.1.1 )
  3. Made sure that I have <preference name="WKWebViewOnly" value="true"/> in my config.xml
  4. Ran ionic cordova prepare ios and ionic cordova build ios

I still get the deprecation message, I already tried removing the whole ios platform and adding it again afterwards, that didn’t help.

List of cordova plugins I’m using:

@ioclaudio wrote:

Hi
when I add a Cordova plugin to Ionic I use this code

ionic cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-inappbrowser
npm install @ionic-native/in-app-browser

To update the same plugin do I have to run these commands?

npm uninstall @ionic-native/in-app-browser
ionic cordova plugin rm cordova-plugin-inappbrowser
ionic cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-inappbrowser
npm install @ionic-native/in-app-browser

Or there is a simpler way?
When i update a plugin i have to update also the ionic-native wrapper?

Thank you very much

Google Maps inconsistently displaying in Ionic app on Android device

@Sweg wrote:

I am adding Google Maps Javascript to my ionic app below.

The map is displaying as expected when I run ionic serve ,

However, when I try to run on my android device using below commands, the map is displaying sometimes , but not always.

  1. ionic build
  2. npx cap sync
  3. npx cap open android

Can someone please tell me why this is occurring, & how it can be resolved?

Here is my code below, I’ll also show the console output in Android studio when I try to run the app:

<ion-header [translucent]="true">
  <ion-toolbar color="primary">
    <ion-title>
      Google Maps

        }
      });
    });
  }

  addMarker(location) {
    var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
      position: location,
      map: this.map,
      animation: google.maps.Animation.BOUNCE,
    });
    this.markers.push(marker);
  }

  deleteMarkers() {
    this.clearMarkers();
    this.markers = [];
  }

  clearMarkers() {
    this.setMapOnAll(null);
  }

  setMapOnAll(map) {
    for (var i = 0; i < this.markers.length; i++) {
      this.markers[i].setMap(map);
    }
  }

  loadMap() {

    var locationOnLoad = null;

    Geolocation.getCurrentPosition().then((resp) => {
      this.latLng = new google.maps.LatLng(resp.coords.latitude, resp.coords.longitude);
      locationOnLoad = { lat: resp.coords.latitude, lng: resp.coords.longitude };
    }).then(() => {

      this.map = new google.maps.Map(this.mapElement.nativeElement, {
        center: locationOnLoad,
        zoom: 15,
        mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
      });

      this.addMarker(locationOnLoad);

    }).catch((err) => {
      console.log(err);
    });
  }

And here is the console output when I try to run in Android Studio:

Ionic 4 can't skip login page when app starts or reloads

I have built jwt authentication system in my ionic 4 app. If the token is available user will be redirected to the " menu/items " page else redirected to " home " page which performs login.

I have set the default path to " menu/items " page. But when the app starts or reloads " home " page is displayed for a second and then redirected to " menu/items " page even though default path is " menu/items ".

I can’t get why this is happening.

Thank you in advance

here is my code

app-routing.module.ts

const routes: Routes = [

  { path: 'menu', canActivate: [AuthGuard], loadChildren: () => import('./pages/menu/menu.module').then(m => m.MenuPageModule) },

];

   checkToken() {

      if (res) {

  login() {
    return this.storage.set(TOKEN_KEY, 'Bearer 1234567').then(() => {

  logout() {

      this.authenticationState.next(false);
      this.router.navigate(['home'])

    });
  }

Ionic/Vue app with Vuex/Firebase. Need help with persisting state!

@tkclark wrote:

I asked this question on the Vue forums because I think it’s more relevant there, but maybe someone here has some insight on this:

I am creating an Ionic app using Vue/Vuex/Firebase/Plaid. So far, everything has been going pretty good considering the lack of documentation and support on Ionic/Vue. I have been able to get logins to work and even persist them with Firebase/Vuex.

Now I’d like to start persisting other bits of data as well. Not sure how to do this? Local storage? Also, should I be using Vuexfire? I want to not only keep things in sync all the time, but maybe also offer offline support in the future.

Any tips or tricks would be great! Thanks!

Ng-select not showing selected item label after writing in textbox

@leonardofmed wrote:

Hi, I’m using the ng-select component for Angular, but I have a problem using it on my device.

While I’m just selecting the items from the ng-select element everything is working fine, but when I type something in the search box and then select an item nothing is show anymore. The value is correctly selected in .ts page, but the user can’t understand that the element was already selected because the box remains empty.

I did some investigation and found that when I type something and then select an item, the class of ng-select element changes. A new element is added: ng-select-filtered , which hide the label of the element.

I tried to create a reproduction of the error, but it seems that this is only happening in my device. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Hello!

When I run: npm install @ionic-native/native-storage

I have the return:

How can I fix this and install the native-storage?

Thanks!!

I tried with a previous development already compiled in production and the same thing happens, I have to uninstall the other to install.

Using Chrome's new device inspector?

@Wrybread wrote:

I’m having trouble using Chrome’s new method of debugging external devices:

chrome://inspect/#devices

Previously I would go to Dev Tools -> More Tools -> Remote Devices and could connect to my phone and see console messages. But when I go to the above URL, I see a reference to my phone (SM-G965U) but I can’t figure out how to actually get any info from it.

I don’t imagine anyone has any tips?

And while I’m on the subject, in Windows 7 I only inconsistently see the console.log messages. I run my app like this:

ionic cordova run android --consolelogs --livereload --ssl --address=0.0.0.0

Usually I use the MINGW64 console, and it sometimes shows me the console messages. Sometimes I use the terminal in VSCode, which also sometimes shows me the console messages.

So I’m a little confused.

Is there some other command I should be running?
